toy rescue
Toy rescue
Entertain your child for hours and train their patience and resourcefulness.
Materials needed:

bowl or balloon
-
water
-
toy
-
any tools you can find

Instructions:
-
Fill your bowl with water and let freeze. Take it out and fill again.

Put the toy in the water. Place the frozen half-sphere on top and freeze.
-
Alternatively put a toy in a balloon, fill with water and freeze.
The aim:
Try to encourage the child to be at it for as long as it takes to rescue the toy (this might vary based on the age). You can also offer them a range of tools to experiment with.

Shoelace bear
How good are your child's concentration and fine motor skills?
Materials needed:
-
carton and glue OR laminator
-
scissors
-
picture of a bear (or any animal)
-
hole puncher
-
shoelace

Instructions:
-
If using laminator: laminate your bear and cut around.

If using carton: stick your picture on the carton and cut out.
-
Use hole puncher to make as many holes as desired
-
Thread the shoelace through the holes.
The aim:
Try to encourage the child to thread and untread the shoelace. You can try to use different patterns and even have a competition of who can do it faster.
