As I was preparing one of the biology experiments I took my pictures and happy with the progress of the experiment I took no further notice. New to taking Internet pictures, I have to confess I am not the best and need to improve, but that is currently besides the point. Anyways, here I am the next day looking at my pictures and preparing to wrap up the experiment and upload it and now I am hesitating. I had a look at the picture and noticed the stains on the kitchen counter. The worst thing is that it is not as visible as in the picture, but here I am looking at the picture and thinking it is too embarassing to upload.

No matter how I look at it or try to put a filter on, the stains are just too obvious. The dilemma here is: do I continue with uploading my experiment or do I re-do it again, this time with a spartkling background? One thing is for certain I am scrubbing the kitchen today. It is interesting how certain things become obvious only after you take a picture of them. The same happens with life. A lot of the time we take things for granted, we think we know and understand the situation, until something throws us back and we realise that maybe we might have missed something.

Besides my experiment, I decided to review my pictures for the past year. The surprising find was that my face; with certain people I was smiling and happy and yet with others the smile was not reflected in my eyes, it was forced. I sat down and thought, how did I come from growing a spring onion to reconsidering some of my friendships? In a way, it was a good thing, and interestingly it showed that even the smallest thing can lead to improving our life if we pay attention to it. So, thank you stains.

Here is my challenge: take a look at pictures, be it of places or people. Will you end up scrubbing your kitchen or will you re-evaluate some of your relationships like I did?
